Going on 2 yrs and still performing well. replacement screens are expensive.
From the moment I unwrapped it I knew I’d love it. What impressed me the most was the filter baskets, with its removable sides. Compared to my old Dolphin, that used a bag, the I had to empty, wash and scrub, what a laborious pain it was. If I had to mention a deficiency, I’d list the fact that the clean cycle is too short, perhaps there’s a longer cycle, that I’m unaware of. I did experience a problem with the filter panels, that started disintegrating about a year after I got, When I contacted Maytronics, they offered to replace them as a one time courtesy Kudos to them!
We were able to let go of our pool guy because of purchasing this unit. It does an excellent job of getting the dirt out and the fact that it can even climb the walls is a neat feature! The only reason we gave it four stars is the cord should be on a swivel. The manufacturer explains that it doesn’t need a swivel because of the intelligence it has to “learn” your pool but the swivel should have been included. The cord is very long and it is a lot to ask of a machine to not get it tangled. The swivel would assist the unit plain and simple!
This is a really good pool cleaner but not perfect - may miss a spot or two at times especially in corners. It seems to spend too much time on the walls and the water jets tend to blow leaves out of the way at times versus sucking them up. Very easy to clean filters which hold a lot of leaves. Just hose off the basket - no need to remove the filter plates from the basket for cleaning. I spread the cord out along the length of the pool deck as directed (NOT on the water) and let the unit pull the cord into the water as needed. I throw the cleaner into the pool at the midpoint. Doing this, the cord NEVER gets tangled. I use the fine filter set and I purchased a rough filter basket insert from Sunplay ($40) that is made for the S300i cleaner and use both together to get two levels of filtering during cleaning (same as more expensive S300i). The inner basket captures the leaves and rough debris and the fine filters capture the fine debris. Nice addition. Overall, happy with the purchase.
