SL-450 Specifications
- The SL-450 is designed specifically for swimming pools and is rated at 80 watts.
- The SL-450 delivers approximately 30,000 mJ of power at a water flow rate of 70 GPM. It will deliver approximately 60,000 mJ of power at a flow rate of 55 GPM.
- The SL-450 is typically matched with a pool circulation pump that moves water at 55 to 70 GPM. The lower the flow rate, the higher the UV dosage applied to the pool's water. Since you cannot overdose UV, units may be upsized.
- To accurately size ultraviolet systems, the flow rate of your pool or spa should be estimated. You may contact SpectraLight or request a quote for sizing assistance.

Compatibility and setup
Sizing
UV systems are sized by the flow rate of your circulation pump, not by pool volume alone. The SL-450 is intended for pumps moving roughly 55–70 gallons per minute. It delivers approximately 30,000 mJ at 70 GPM and 60,000 mJ at 55 GPM.
Electrical and plumbing
Available in 115V or 230V; select the voltage above to match your equipment pad. Installs inline after the filter (and after a heater, if fitted). Connections are not listed in the manufacturer copy we have; ask us for the union size before ordering plumbing parts.
Lamp maintenance
The UV lamp is rated for about 13,000 hours and is typically replaced every 1–2 seasons depending on run time. Replacement lamp: Replacement Lamps.
