Reviews are written by our in-house pool professionals from hands-on testing. How we test
Cordless robotic pool cleaners trade the cable for a battery, and that trade costs motor power, run time and the weekly timer: every cordless robot has to be lifted out and recharged after a single cycle. Cordless robots are out of stock at Pool Express. After testing the cordless Dolphins against the corded Max-Series and ProLine, we recommend a corded robot that starts itself on a schedule for almost every pool, and the robots below are our Pool Pro picks.
The robots below are our Pool Pro picks in the meantime, each sold new with free shipping and a 30-day trial.

What is a cordless pool cleaner?
Utilizing battery technology, a cordless pool robot opts for a battery rather than a power cord. While effective for certain applications, they are normally less powerful than their corded counterparts.
Our cordless robots are out of stock. After testing the cordless Dolphins against the corded Max-Series and ProLine, we recommend a corded robot on a weekly timer for almost every pool.
Is a cordless pool robot worth it?
While cordless models are gaining in popularity, it is important to consider the advantages and disadvantages. Unlike corded models, cordless models currently can only run one cycle before having to be recharged. This leads to daily recharging, as opposed to cleaning the robot once a week for units with a weekly timer.
Weigh the Pros and Cons
While cordless robots offer the advantage of cordless operation, it is important to note that it also comes with its fair share of challenges. The constant charging, lower suction power, and costly battery replacements are all things to keep in mind.
