Salt Cell Replacement Electrodes
Once your salt cell is ready for replacement, Pool Express offers several different replacement cells for your new chlorinator system. They’re designed to handle a range of pool sizes, depending on the model.
Properly cleaning your hot tub is essential, since bacteria thrive in warm water. Choose between ultraviolet or saltwater sanitizing systems for your spa, so you never have to worry about contaminated water. An ultraviolet spa system is smaller; to fit the requirements for your spa, but never sacrifices in sanitizing power. The same is true for your saltwater spa; your hot tub will be safer and healthier with the correct salt chlorine generator in place.
If you can, try cleaning the salt cell first with a hydrochloric acid bath. Allow the salt cell to soak three to five minutes then rinse the cell with running water. Reinstall the cell and test your water. If you don’t notice a significant change, it’s time for a replacement.
The salt cell is an essential piece of the entire chlorine generator. It’s responsible for converting the table salt into chlorine. As water passes through the cell, electrolysis happens and causes chlorine to be released from the salt. Then chlorine is pushed into your swimming pool, thus if the salt cell isn’t functioning properly, your swimming pool’s sanitation level is affected. Replacement electrodes are often the biggest expense to maintain your saltwater system. The salt cell, or electrode, is the most expensive part of the chlorinator. At Pool Express we carry salt cell replacement electrodes at a fraction of the price. They’re from reputable brands including Pentair, Goldline and Jandy.
