Corded robotic pool cleaners draw low-voltage power from a transformer on the deck, which is why they can run three-hour cycles every day, drive strong motors and start on a weekly timer without a battery to charge. Every corded robot here ships with a floating cable between 36 and 60 ft; most inground models add an anti-tangle swivel. If you want the robot to clean the pool while you are not there, corded is still the way.

A cordless robot has to carry its energy in a battery, so it runs shorter cycles with smaller motors and sits on a charger between them. A corded robot has a 24-volt supply that never runs down: it climbs with full motor power for the whole cycle, cleans the waterline, and starts itself on a schedule from the power supply's weekly timer or the app. That is why every ProLine, Max-Series, Clear and Aquabot inground robot is corded.
The cable is the only trade-off, and the robots here manage it well. Floating cables stay on the surface rather than sinking into the pool, anti-tangle swivels on the inground models let the cable spin freely so it does not coil, and 60 ft gives a full 50 ft pool of reach with slack. Set the power supply at least 10 ft from the water, drop the robot in and the cable looks after itself.
Full-length cycles with no charging; the robot can run a cycle every day on its timer.
Scheduled starts come from the plugged-in power supply, which cordless robots cannot offer.
Standard on the Premier, Sigma and Quantum and on the Clear robots.
The power supply converts mains power to a safe 24 volts before it reaches the pool.
A 60 ft swivel cable, dual commercial-grade motors, Multi-Media filtration, weekly timer and 3-year warranty.
View the Dolphin Premier60 ft swivel cable, waterline cleaning, NanoFilters, weekly timer and app control for less than the other ProLine robots.
View the Dolphin QuantumA 36 ft cable sized for pools up to 33 ft, with a MaxBin and weekly timer.
View the Dolphin CaymanQuad motors, UltraFilters, UV-C sanitation and a 59 ft swivel cable with a 3-year warranty.
View the Clear UVYes. The power supply on the deck converts household power to a low 24-volt DC supply before it enters the water, and the supply should be plugged into a GFCI outlet at least 10 ft from the pool. This is the same design every major robot brand has used for decades.
A 40 ft cable covers pools up to about 33 ft; a 60 ft cable covers pools up to 50 ft. The cable needs to reach the far corner of the pool from the power supply with slack to spare.
Robots with an anti-tangle swivel rarely tangle, because the swivel lets the cable rotate as the robot turns. On robots without one, lay the cable out straight before each cycle and let it float; most tangles come from cable stored in tight coils.
Corded. More motor power, longer cycles, waterline cleaning and scheduled starts are all easier with a plug. Cordless robots are better where cable handling is impractical or the pool is small and cleaned occasionally.
