Active

Proven performance, control made easy

The Dolphin Active 2000 is the new-generation Active for pools up to 40 ft. It cleans the floor, climbs the walls, scrubs the waterline and, with step detection and a water jet that fires as it comes down, cleans stairs and sun ledges in as little as 12 inches of water. A front active brush and a combined rear brush do the scrubbing; a swivel on the blue cable keeps it from tangling as the robot turns.

Filtration is interchangeable: a combined fine and ultra-fine basket plus a second ultra-fine kit in the box, so you can run coarse for leaves in spring and fine for dust in summer. The weekly timer and the MyDolphin Plus app schedule Full Coverage cycles from your phone, with a delayed start if you want the robot to wait. Cycles run 2, 2.5 or 3 hours. It is the same robot as the S2000 and T2000, sold through the Active dealer network with a two-year Maytronics warranty. Pool Express is an authorized dealer.

Dolphin Active 2000 questions, answered

What is the difference between the Active 2000 and the Active 3000?

The Active 3000 is rated for pools up to 50 ft, adds six cleaning modes with a Smart Weekly timer, a caddy and the app's Pickup feature, extra filter layers and a three-year warranty. The Active 2000 covers pools up to 40 ft with four modes and a two-year warranty.

Is the Active 2000 the same robot as the S2000 and T2000?

Yes. The S2000, T2000, Premium 2000 and Active 2000 share the same specifications; the names follow the dealer network each is sold through.

What does the Dolphin Active 2000 include?

A front active brush and a combined rear brush for extra scrubbing, a combined double-seal filter basket with fine and ultra-fine cartridges plus two spare ultra-fine cartridges, a blue cable with an anti-tangle swivel, jet-powered stair cleaning and sun-ledge cleaning in 12 inches of water. It works with the MyDolphin Plus app for weekly scheduling of the Full Coverage program and offers four modes: Full Coverage (floor, walls, waterline, stairs and sun ledge), Floor Only, Floor/Walls/Waterline and Fast.

How does the Dolphin Active 2000 clean stairs and sun ledges?

Step detection lets it climb onto stairs, and as it comes back down a water jet fires to flush dirt and debris off the step so the robot can collect it. This happens automatically in the Full Coverage mode, and the same system cleans sun ledges with a minimum water depth of about 12 to 15 inches.

How do I schedule cleanings on the Dolphin Active 2000?

In the MyDolphin Plus app. The 2000-series models let you set a weekly timer for the Full Coverage program. The 3000-series models add a Smart Weekly timer where you also choose the cycle type and duration from six cleaning modes. Standard cycles run two to three hours depending on the mode; Fast Mode runs one hour.

What is new in the 2000 and 3000 series design?

A refreshed housing and side panels, a swivel on the blue cable to cut tangling, and a rear combined brush that improves how the robot tracks around the pool. The bigger change is in what it cleans: a jet-powered stair-cleaning function, sun ledges in as little as 12 inches of water, and smart control through the MyDolphin Plus app.

Is the new design only cosmetic, or does the Dolphin Active 2000 clean differently?

Both. The new side panels and finish are cosmetic, and underneath the robot still runs the proven CleverClean navigation Dolphins are known for. What is genuinely new is capability: jet-powered stair cleaning, sun-ledge cleaning and extra cleaning modes, so it reaches parts of the pool the previous generation skipped without changing the core performance.

How do I set up the Dolphin Active 2000 the first time?

Unbox the robot and strip off every piece of plastic wrap, including the wrap around any white foam climbing rings. Put the power supply at least 12 feet from the pool edge, in the shade if you can, and plug it straight into the outlet rather than an extension cord. Unroll only as much blue cable as the longest side of your pool and leave the rest coiled on the deck.

  • Connect the blue cable to the power supply: line up the plug with the notch, then turn it clockwise until it locks.
  • Plug the power supply in, but do not switch it on yet.
  • Set the robot in the water at the middle of the pool's long axis and let it sink. If it has foam brushes or rings, hold them under until they are soaked.
  • Press ON/OFF on the power supply. The robot starts in the direction it is facing.

A robot is built to maintain a pool that is already balanced and netted of large debris. Use the fine (coarser) filters for the first cycles of the season, never pull the robot by its cable while it is running, and remember that a cycle you interrupt restarts from the beginning next time.

How should I store the Dolphin Active 2000 between cycles and over the winter?

Lift the robot out after each cycle and keep both the robot and the power supply out of direct sun, heat and cold. A caddy keeps it off the ground; coil the cable loosely so it never kinks. The power supply belongs in a covered spot at least 12 feet from the water, since it is splash-proof but not waterproof.

For the off-season, store the robot on its caddy in a ventilated space that stays between 41°F and 113°F, and keep it away from pool chemicals, whose fumes corrode plastics and electronics over time.

Are finer filters available for the Dolphin Active 2000?

Dolphins ship with fine spring filters (about 100 microns) that catch leaves, twigs and grit. Many models also include ultra-fine filters (about 50 microns) for sand, dirt and algae, and some accept a super-fine insert that filters down to 30 microns. Use the fine filters for spring opening and heavy debris, and the ultra-fine set for everyday cleaning. Ask us for the replacement filter set that fits this model.

How do I connect the Dolphin Active 2000 to the MyDolphin Plus app?

MyDolphin Plus connects the power supply to your Wi-Fi so you can schedule and start the robot from anywhere. Your network must broadcast on 2.4 GHz, the password must be shorter than 32 characters with no spaces or special characters, and the signal at the power supply needs at least two bars. iOS 10 or Android 5 and later are supported.

  • Plug in the power supply and connect the blue cable; the connectivity LED flashes blue. Put the robot in the water and press ON/OFF.
  • Open the app, accept the permissions, create an account and scan the QR code on the side of the power supply (or search manually). Bluetooth pairing finishes when the LED turns solid blue.
  • Enter your Wi-Fi name and password. The LED alternates green and blue while it joins the network and turns solid green when it is on the cloud.

If the progress bar stalls at 0 to 10%, restart the app close to the power supply and check the network name; at 10 to 50%, confirm the 2.4 GHz requirement; at 50 to 90%, restart your router. A Wi-Fi power supply cannot be added to a robot that did not ship with one.

What water chemistry does the Dolphin Active 2000 need?

Balanced water. Too little chlorine lets algae clog the filters and starve the motor of flow; a pH above the recommended range stops the robot climbing walls. After a shock or flocculant treatment, wait 24 hours before the robot goes back in. Keep the water between 43°F and 95°F; below 59°F, climbing suffers.

  • Alkalinity: 80 to 120 ppm
  • pH: 7.2 to 7.6
  • Calcium hardness: 150 to 250 ppm
  • Free chlorine: 1.0 to 3.0 ppm
  • Cyanuric acid: 30 to 50 ppm

Saltwater pools are fine up to 5,000 ppm of salt. Rinse the robot with tap water after each cycle to stop deposits building up.

Can I leave the Dolphin Active 2000 in the pool?

It is better to take it out after each cycle, empty and rinse the filters, and store it dry out of the sun. Models with a weekly timer or an Eco mode are designed to stay in for the week they are scheduled, as long as the water is balanced; clean the filter at the end of the week. Whatever the model, lift the robot out before anyone swims.

How does the Dolphin Active 2000 find its way around the pool?

With CleverClean, a navigation program based on timing rather than mapping. The robot sweeps the floor in a pattern and, on models that climb, heads up the walls and along the waterline every four to six minutes. It starts off in whatever direction it is facing, which is why we suggest placing it in the middle of the pool along the long axis, and it is happy to work while your pool pump is running.

How do I register the Dolphin Active 2000 warranty?

Register online at registration.maytronics.com with the robot's 10-character serial number and your Pool Express receipt. The serial number is printed on the box label, on the warranty card and on a barcode label inside the robot's housing. The form asks for the serial number, your details, the purchase date and store, and an uploaded receipt or invoice showing the date, product and price; then you agree to the terms and submit. Keep the confirmation with your receipt. Because Pool Express is an authorized Maytronics dealer, the full 2-year warranty applies.

What kind of outlet does the Dolphin Active 2000 power supply need?

A standard 120-volt outlet, ideally one protected by a GFCI. The robot draws under one amp while it runs, roughly 100 to 180 watts, so a cycle costs a few cents in electricity.

How do I take the Dolphin Active 2000 out of the pool?

Turn the power supply off and unplug it. Pull gently on the floating blue cable until the robot reaches the side, then take it by the handle and lift it slowly so the water drains before it clears the edge. Never yank the cable, and never lift the robot by it. If reaching down is awkward, a retrieval hook that clips onto a standard pool pole makes the lift easy; resting the robot on the coping for a minute lets the rest of the water run out.

Is the Dolphin Active 2000 from Pool Express covered by the full Maytronics warranty?

Yes. Pool Express is an authorized Maytronics dealer, so every Dolphin Active 2000 we sell is a new unit that registers with Maytronics for the full manufacturer warranty, and our Pool Pros handle any warranty question for you. Buying from an unauthorized seller can void that coverage, which is why Maytronics asks you to buy from a dealer. You also get our 30-day trial and low price guarantee.
