The Niya Sonar line is the purple family of cordless robotic pool cleaners from Maytronics. The Sonar 10 cleans the floor of above-ground pools up to 20 ft, the Sonar 20 and Sonar Ray step up to 26 ft with sonar navigation, and the Sonar 30 climbs the walls and scrubs the waterline in pools up to 33 ft with three brushless motors. All four charge in a few hours, run one to two hours per cycle and park at the wall when they finish.

Start with pool length and the surfaces you need cleaned. The Sonar 10 is a seven-pound floor cleaner that runs about an hour, enough for a 20 ft above-ground pool. The Sonar 20 adds sonar navigation and a ten-pound body with a 1.5-hour cycle for pools to 26 ft; the Sonar Ray covers the same pool size in a flat, teardrop shape with a built-in handle, aimed at first-time robot owners. Only the Sonar 30 climbs: it scrubs floor, walls and waterline with two brushes and a two-hour cycle in pools up to 33 ft.
All four use one coarse top-load filter basket, so they are at their best on leaves, bugs, grit and everyday dust rather than fine silt or algae. None has a timer or Wi-Fi; you press the button and drop the robot in. Each carries a one-year Maytronics warranty and shares stocked parts: filters, wheel sets, chargers and the retrieval hook.

Yes, within the pool length rating. Maytronics rates the Sonar 10, Sonar Ray and Sonar 30 for inground and above-ground pools; the Sonar 20 is rated for above-ground pools. Small inground pools up to 33 ft are a good fit for the Sonar 30.
