A remote control lets you take over a robotic pool cleaner for the moments automation does not cover: a pile of leaves in one corner, a sandy spot by the steps or driving the robot to the wall so you can lift it out without wading in. The robots here either ship with a wireless remote or accept the optional Dolphin remote, alongside their normal automatic cycles.

Robots are built to clean the whole pool unattended, so a remote is not something you use every cycle. It earns its place on the days you want control: spot cleaning a specific area without a full cycle, choosing a floor-only or wall-and-waterline mode, or steering the robot to the edge for pickup. Dolphin's remotes also let you change cycle length and, on some models, turn off wall climbing for a quick floor pass.
The Sigma, Quantum, Clear S and Clear UV and the Aquabot Rapids 2000 ship with a remote in the box. The Premier accepts the optional Dolphin wireless remote, which we sell separately. On app-enabled robots the phone app also offers manual drive, so a remote is most valuable on models without an app or for owners who prefer a dedicated controller.

The remote sends commands to the power supply, which relays them to the robot through the cable. Stand within range of the power supply and the robot responds while it is submerged.
Apps offer the same manual drive plus scheduling and alerts, so on app-enabled robots the remote is a convenience. On robots without an app, the remote is the only way to steer and change modes.
For the Dolphin Premier, yes. Other Dolphin models require the power supply that matches the remote, so check the product page or ask a Pool Pro before ordering.
