Round pools are simple to cover but easy to oversize. A lightweight robot with a cable rated for the pool diameter can clean the floor in efficient arcs without leaving a large coil of slack on the surface. For rigid-wall round pools, wall climbing is optional; for soft-sided frame pools, judge the cleaner by floor performance and treat partial wall climbs as a bonus.

A 24 ft round pool needs enough wet cable to cross its diameter from the entry point, plus safe routing to the power supply. More cable is not automatically better; excess slack can float into loops in a compact pool.
A floor-focused robot follows the curved wall and redirects across the center. On a rigid steel or resin wall, a wall-climbing model can scrub above the cove; on a flexible wall, the robot may return to the floor before reaching the top.
