Reviews are written by our in-house pool professionals from hands-on testing. How we test
There is no separate 'Hayward pool' connection standard. A robotic cleaner carries its own pump, motors and filter, so it works independently of a Hayward circulation pump, filter, salt system or automation panel. That means compatibility comes down to the pool itself: length, surface, floor shape, wall and waterline coverage and the debris you need to capture. The residential robots here can all operate alongside Hayward equipment.

A robot plugs into its own low-voltage power supply and never connects to the suction or return plumbing. It does not need to communicate with OmniLogic, a variable-speed pump or a salt cell, and running a robot does not change the pool-filter schedule.
Choose the cleaner by the longest pool dimension and surface, then decide whether you need floor only, walls or the waterline. If you are replacing a Hayward suction or pressure cleaner, remove or cap its hose connection as directed, but the robot itself needs no conversion kit.
Robots do not connect to a Hayward pump, filter, skimmer line or return line.
Scheduling lives in the robot power supply or app, separate from pool automation.
Choose a model rated for the actual vinyl, fiberglass, plaster, pebble or tile surface.
Maximum pool length and power-supply placement determine reach.
Yes. A robotic cleaner works independently and does not connect to the pump, so the pump brand does not affect compatibility.
Normally no. Use the robot's own weekly timer or app. Do not switch its low-voltage power supply with pool automation unless the manufacturer explicitly supports that setup.
It can, but it does not have to. Some owners pause circulation to let fine debris settle before the robot runs; others run both at the same time.
